Franciacorta Edinburgh Festival

The prestigious Italian sparkling wine, Franciacorta is hosting its first ever Festival in Edinburgh on Tuesday 18th June 2019 at The Hub. Franciacorta welcomes you to join its producers from 18.30-20.30 to enjoy tasting a range of the best sparkling wine from Italy, whilst having the opportunity to meet the knowledgeable minds behind each winery. Produced by the traditional bottle fermented method and being honoured by Italy’s top DOCG classification, Franciacorta wines are highly respected throughout the world.



Franciacorta UK Brand Ambassador, Tom Harrow and Wine expert and Writer Peter Ranscombe will be hosting a masterclass on the Franciacorta wines and region with a dedicated tasting that will run from 18.30 for thirty minutes. Entrance will be on a first come first served basis.

Franciacorta produces some of the highest quality sparkling wines in the entire industry, having received the ultimate DOCG status in 1995 as first Italian wine in this category. Focusing on stringent, hand-picked selections of Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Erbamat grapes, it is crafted using the traditional method with secondary fermentation occurring in bottle.

The Consorzio now stands at 116 current members who make the 17.5m bottles that are produced today
