High altitude wines of Alto Adige

Thursday 12 April 2018, 11:00am - 03:00pm

For every 100m you ascend there is a 0.5C drop in temperature. Among the many benefits can be a lower incidence of vine disease, higher levels of fruit-flavour intensity and natural acidity, and fine, integrated tannins; all of which give the wines remarkable concentration, balance and poise.

A morning seminar (11am to 1pm) will show 12 wines from vineyards planted above 500m and up to 1000m (1640' to 3280’) presented by Werner Waldbooth of the Consorzio Vini Alto Adige and Andi Punter, Sales & Marketing Director Export of Franz Haas Wine Estate.

An afternoon Self-Pour Tasting (1:30 to 3:30pm) when a total of 30 high altitude wines will be on offer from this small but truly remarkable region.
