Have You Met Ms Jones? Domaine Jones at Maison Languedoc, London

Monday 02 October 2017, 10:00am - 06:00pm

Domaine Jones and Dudley Craig Wines present Katie Jones' current portfolio, including the premium 'Les Perles de Jones' foursome (Syrah, Carignan, Carignan Gris and Macabeu) and a unique vertical of her acclaimed (and utterly wonderful) Fitou.

Katie Jones and Richard Dudley Craig will be in attendance and on hand to answer any questions you may have. Please contact Richard by e-mail if there's anything you'd like to know ahead of time.

We look forward to seeing you on the 2nd October!

About Domaine Jones

Domaine Jones started out with a wine making philosophy to which they've stuck. It’s to vinify the vineyards separately, rather than mixing, so they know the quality coming from each.

Most other growers in the region wouldn’t be interested in Katie's modest 12 hectares of vines, spread across vineyards in Maury, Paziols and Tuchan. Katie makes her wine in La Gare du Vin, the old train shed in the village of Tuchan.

The sites are small, remote and challenging - which is exactly the way Katie likes them. She looks for low yields with high quality, and the rather poor, sloping ground that the very old and traditional vines cling to gives her just that. It means most of the work (including harvesting) has to be done by hand, but the results are more than worth the toil.

Katie specialises in traditional grape varieties including Grenache Rouge and Gris, Carignan, Macabeu, Syrah and Muscat Petit Grain, plus some rarities such as Lledoner Pelut (Hairy Grenache).
