Sir John Hegarty to give keynote address at WSTA Annual Conference

World renowned advertising figure, Sir John Hegarty, has been announced as the WSTA’s keynote speaker for its upcoming Annual Conference on September 17.

Sir John’s multi-award winning career in advertising spans six decades, from the early days of Saatchi and Saatchi to the establishment of the global company Bartle Bogle Hegarty, which he runs today. He is responsible for some of the world’s most iconic and celebrated advertising campaigns and in 2007 was knighted for services to the industry.  

With the theme of this year’s conference set to focus on ‘new opportunities in traditional industries’, Sir John is ideally placed to explore how wine and spirit companies can better communicate with their target audience.

Sir John also has a close association and interest in the industry as a vineyard owner in the Languedoc producing his Hegarty Chamans wine.

The WSTA Annual Conference has established itself as a leading wine and spirit industry event, providing a forum for industry leaders to consider the major issues facing the trade. 

The conference will be chaired by WSTA Chairman, Nick Hyde and will include a keynote address from WSTA Chief Executive, Miles Beale.

A panel discussion featuring industry and non-industry experts is set to discuss how branding, innovation and digital communications play an integral part in consumer engagement. The discussion will once again be chaired by Simon Jack, the Today programme’s Business Editor. More details about the panel speakers will be announced shortly.

The conference is being held at One Great George Street, Westminster, London SW1P 3AA and opens with coffee from 2.00pm with the conference starting at 2.30pm. The event concludes with a drinks reception to allow attendees to network that will run from 5:30pm – 8pm.

Norbert Dentressangle will again be the event sponsor, while a number of WSTA member companies will be participating in a product showcase at the conference.
