The Group Data & Analytics team has been created to deliver best in class business and customer insights to colleagues and supplier partners. The team has responsibility for the build and deployment of a Group Data Warehouse and BI Platform in order to store and manage all historical and current data sets from all sources. The linking of key current and legacy datasets as well as the management of data accuracy is a core requirement for our team. Moreover the team will work teams across Conviviality to deliver a group-wide CRM and Customer Research solution to ensure we always deliver the very best service to our customers. 

The Business Intelligence Analyst will work on individual BI solutions with senior stakeholders across Conviviality. You will help deliver a group wide project connecting all colleagues across Conviviality, with the data to make the right decisions for our business. You will achieve this by working with colleagues in the Group Data & Analytics team and across the business to build a network of dashboard users, working with them to understand and align key metrics and setting up automated reporting to help drive the right behaviours across our 11 trading companies.

Core accountabilities

  • Work within the Data & Analytics team on given projects; understand the requirements, efficiently make recommendations and deliver these to our customers within the business
  • Create and implement visual dashboard interfaces using Microsoft PowerBI/Power Pivot software
  • Work closely with Azure DBA to deliver secure data feeds to dashboard owners
  • Maintain systems, procedures and policies needed to ensure data feeds are up-to-date and relevant
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure that business data is clean, correct and usable
  • Maintain and review currently active reporting
  • Liaise with 3rd party data/business owners to gain and understand the data they are providing
  • Develop a close working relationship with senior stakeholders (Senior Management level); provide guidance on key stages throughout the project
  • Regular contact with stakeholders to ensure necessary requirements and expectations are being met
  • Run and attend workshops with teams to test dashboard solution models
  • Present solutions at varying stages throughout each project as well as the final installation
  • Work with managers to identify possible dashboard owners within their team
  • Teach, guide and empower team members to create valuable dashboard representations
  • As a key subject matter expert (both internally and externally) inspire, support and train analysts to develop their understanding and manipulation of data, ability to create solutions to briefs, and other key skills development
  • Be an active contributor to cross-functional projects, and work with the Head of Data & Analytics on more complex/commercially significant projects as required



  • Experience in a business facing role, working across all levels including senior managers
  • Strong experience working with data either as an analyst, data manager or equivalent
  • Experience with building reports, implementing quality control checks and processes
  • Experience presenting conclusions in a compelling and effective manner
  • Experience working with BI software such as Microsoft Power BI
  • Experience of using different ERP systems
  • Knowledge of business and technology with a working understanding of data warehousing and data structures
  • Knowledge of the drinks industry and/or a strong understanding of beer/wine/spirits
  • Educated to degree level (preferably in a numerical/logical field)
Technical/behavioural/personal competencies
  • Advanced analysis skills (Excel essential, other programs desired)
  • Highly numerate with strong financial acuity (Accountancy qualifications desired but not essential)
  • Effective communicator, in explaining work, teaching skills and presenting findings to colleagues, customers and suppliers
  • Strong time management skills including delivering projects to tight deadlines
  • Hands-on experience with data and business requirement gathering and analysis
  • Calm and pragmatic approach to business problem solving
  • A solid understanding of and interest in data and its impact on profitable decision-making
  • A strong interest in a future in Business Intelligence, Data & Analytics
  • An ability and interest in managing cross-functional projects
  • A working understanding of relational databases

Other info

There is flexibility in this role to be based in either London, Bristol or Crewe in one of the Conviviality Plc offices. The main team base is in London. It will required to be in London at least 2 days of the week. Some additional travel may be required within the UK to visit any of our other offices or customers.
