Panel to discuss the importance of engaging consumers through innovation


A panel of industry experts will be sharing their knowledge on the importance of innovation to the wine and spirit industry at the upcoming WSTA Annual Conference on 17 September. The panel will also be discussing the role of branding and digital communications and its impact on consumers.


The theme of this year’s conference is ‘new opportunities in traditional industries’ and will include a keynote speech from world renowned advertising figure Sir John Hegarty.

The panel discussion will again be chaired by Simon Jack, Business Editor of The Today Programme and include a mixture of experts from inside and outside the trade. The panel for this year's conference comprises:

Eamonn Carey, Head of Digital at MHP Communications Simon Robinson, Founder of Hattingley Valley Susannah Schofield, Managing Director at Royal Mail Courier Daniel Szor, Founder of Cotswolds Distillery

WSTA Chief Executive Miles Beale said:

Innovative ways of engaging consumers, including those provided by growth in digital technology, are valuable for making the most of new opportunities. But innovation also accompanies new challenges, business models and ideas. We are fortunate to have a panel of speakers, from a range of industries, with broad experience of how to identify and meet changing consumer demand.”   

The WSTA Annual Conference has established itself as a leading wine and spirit industry event, providing a forum for industry leaders to consider the major issues facing the trade. 

The conference will be chaired by WSTA Chairman, Nick Hyde and will include a keynote address from WSTA Chief Executive, Miles Beale.

The conference is being held at One Great George Street, Westminster, London SW1P 3AA and opens with coffee from 2.00pm with the conference starting at 2.30pm. The event concludes with a drinks reception to allow attendees to network that will run from 5:30pm – 8pm.

Norbert Dentressangle will again be the event sponsor and a number of WSTA member companies will be participating in a product showcase at the conference.
