Community Alcohol Partnerships commended for Responsible Drinking Message

Community Alcohol Partnerships (CAP) has won a Special Commendation at this year’s Drinks Business Awards for “Responsible Drinking Message of the Year”. The model, developed by the Retail of Alcohol Standards Group (RASG), aims to tackle underage drinking through co-operation between alcohol retailers and local stakeholders, such as Trading Standards, the police and local schools.

Drinkaware won the overall award category, but judges wanted to highlight the efforts of Community Alcohol Partnerships with the Special Commendation. One judge commented: “Bearing in mind the limited resources this campaign is particularly hard hitting and showing real commitment”.

On accepting the award Jeremy Beadles, Chief Executive of the WSTA, said: “The investment from industry into Community Alcohol Partnerships shows how seriously we are about tackling irresponsible drinking and it’s great to see that work being recognised in this way.”
