The WSTA represents imported spirits, i.e. over 33% of all spirits sold on the UK market. The Imported Spirits Committee has been active in lobbying on the strip stamps issue and contributes to submissions on technical matters to the UK Government, the European Commission and other bodies.

The Imported Spirits Committee is active in liaising with CEPS, Defra & HMRC and is currently involved on issues such as: Duty Stamp Regime & Anti Fraud Activity; Reform of the Spirit Regime; Definitions of Imported Spirits (Rum, Tequila etc); Cariforum Rum Project and Social Aspects effecting the industry.
