Miles has overall responsibility for the organisational strategy and public affairs and public relations work of the WSTA. Further responsibilities include commercial services, finance, personnel and membership recruitment.


David joined the WSTA in March 2014, after 16 years prosecuting Customs and Excise offences and working in other regulatory areas.  He supports the Production Working Group and Logistics Group, particularly on issues such as  the Spirit Drinks Regulation, ingredient and nutrition labelling, working with HMRC and DEFRA.  He is also continuing to develop the WSTA’s work on responding to fraud, participating in the Joint Alcohol Anti-Fraud Task Force.

Simon joined the WSTA in September 2013 and brings experience of the EU having worked in Brussels for over 10 years. With responsibility for wine policy, he is also involved with a number of Committees including the Wine Importers Panel and Distance Selling Panel.
