Spirits Committee

The Spirits Committee offers a forum for member companies to discuss and guide all aspects of policy and trade relating to spirit drinks, enabling members to discuss issues around production, taxation and legislative matters affecting spirit drinks.

Key Issues

On foreign trade matters the Committee monitors and advises on the import, export and market access rules of the EU and Third Countries. Working closely with spiritsEUROPE it develops and pursues policy positions for EU free trade negotiations. It offers a platform to discuss market conditions and consider matters relating to the protection of all spirit drink categories other than Scotch whisky.

Members have the opportunity to join the Wine and Spirits Technical Committee to discuss production issues which affect their businesses. Other ad hoc working groups are set up as required.
