The tables show the quantities of wines and spirits taken out of bond and released for home consumption in the UK. Cross-channel shopping and smuggling are therefore not covered. The latest month is shown together with the percentage difference against the same month of the previous year. In addition, the annual total is compared with that a year earlier to give a more stable measure of change. For wine, quantities are in Hectolitres (Hl); 1 Hl is 100 litres, where a case of standard bottles is 9 litres. For spirits quantities are shown in hectolitres of pure alcohol (LPA). A case of standard spirit bottles (70 cl) at 40% vol. Will contain 3.36 litres of pure alcoholContact David Tromans for further information – - 020 7089 3877
