The French Government published in 2006 a national regulation making it mandatory for beverage alcohol sold on the French territory to be labelled with a health warning directed at pregnant women. All alcoholic drinks containers have to bear a health warning on alcohol consumption during pregnancy. This warning can either be the logo OR the following warning : «la consommation de boissons alcoolisées pendant la grossesse, même en faible quantité, peut avoir des conséquences graves sur la santé de l’enfant». (translates as: ‘consumption of alcoholic drinks during pregnancy, even in low quantities, can have harmful consequences and the child’s health.’) Find a link below to the French legal text and the three different logos available to download: http://www.sante.gouv.fr/htm/dossiers/alcool/alcool-grossesse.htm Health Warnings - Finland & Poland Mandatory health warnings have been proposed in recent years by the Finnish and Polish governments on the labelling of alcoholic drinks sold within their countries. These proposals are currently under discussions with the European Commission. |
