WSTA and Chapel Down host Ministerial visit for English Wine Week

WSTA Chief Executive, Jeremy Beadles, and Fraser Thompson of Chapel Down Winery today welcomed Economic Secretary to the Treasury, Justine Greening MP, on a tour of the Chapel Down vineyard and winery in Kent.

The visit provided the hosts an opportunity to raise a range of issues facing the wine industry with the Minister, including duty rates and pressures facing the industry’s SMEs. The tour also allowed them to highlight the opportunities the English Wine industry has for growth including in the export market.

The tour comes as part of English Wine Week, a national campaign to raise awareness in English vineyards and wines, which is taking place between Saturday the 28th May and Sunday the 5th of June.

Ends.
