The wine and spirit production process is governed by regulations designed to ensure products meet stringent health and safety standards.

In the event of products being reported to the authorities, either in relation to health issues or to alleged counterfeiting, the WSTA has a standard procedure in place for assessment and handling.

The WSTA works with member companies, the UK Food Standards Agency and relevant international bodies in coordinating a response with a view to minimising public risk and potential damage to the trade.
