The Drinkaware Trust is a UK-wide charity aiming to reduce alcohol misuse and minimise alcohol related harm by changing public behaviour and challenging the national drinking culture. Drinkaware is supported by the alcohol drinks industry, government and a wide range of stakeholders in the health, education and voluntary sectors.
The Drinkaware website was originally set up by The Portman Group in order to provide consumers with information about responsible drinking to enable them to make informed lifestyle choices.
Drinkaware was officially launch early in 2007, and has a projected budget of £12m over three years. The WSTA entirely supports the role and purpose of Drinkaware, and will work to provide a conduit between the Trust and its members. The WSTA encourages members to incorporate the drinkaware logo on advertising, point of sale materials and product labelling.
